The Zettlers

The Zettlers were formed in 1960. In December 1964, they became the first of the pop/rock groups from their hometown in Umeå, Sweden to get a record contract. The Zettlers wanted to sing in English, but the record company insisted they should sing in Swedish. The compromise was two singles, one in Swedish 13470600 and one in English 7197214. The band recorded a third single 11783703 in 1965 and was disbanded in early 1966 when three of the members were due for their military service.
