Jim Brewer (2)

American bluegrass guitarist. Born March 16, 1938 in Roan Mountain, Tennessee. Died September 12, 2020. Son of [a4128853]. Father of [a2418632]. Brewer started his music career playing guitar in the 1970s with George Tabor and forming Jim & George and Foxfire. During this era, Brewer recorded with Wade Hill & The Bluegrass Professionals. Brewer drove the tour bus for his youngest son Gary and his band the Kentucky Ramblers, also acting as their road manager. He started performing with them in 1988. In 1989 Brewer helped to start the family-run Strictly Bluegrass festival in Louisville, Kentucky.
