Snails formed in 2010 when Bristol songwriter Dan Weltman (aka Hollowbody) recruited friend Mog Fry [The Wraiths / Ukeytronica) to help soundtrack a budget slasher involving a homicidal nun. No Baftas resulted but this bonding process led to the creation of several more lost soundtracks - songs centred on two voices projecting a vision of widescreen heartache as seen through rain-streaked semi-detached windows. Their sound, awash in melancholy folk and sumptuous pop arrangements, bears the influence of mavericks such as [a202191], Clive Palmer and Moondog. Snails recently welcomed low frequency operator Holly McIntosh on electric bass and drum expert Steve Dixon on the kit.
