Swedish pop group formed in 1965 in Årsta in Stockholm municipality. The band was formed by Ulf Wahlberg, (guitar / organ / vocals) Björn Olsén, (guitar / vocals) Thomas Rydberg (drums) and Hans Jonsson (bass). The following year, 1966, the group won a medal in Jump In's pop band competition. They appeared in Opopoppa in 1967 and toured extensively, including in Holland and Finland. Hans "Lill-Hasse" Jonsson was long called Sweden's smallest bassist; he was only fourteen years old when the group was started. Rowing Gamblers otherwise stood for a relatively soft pop sound with a lot of vocals. In the last year the group was active (1970), Peter Stolt (Pete Proud) became the fifth member on vocals and percussion. There are some well-known names as composers on the group's singles. Göran Lagerberg (Tages) has written and produced "A World Of Roses". The couple Claes Dieden-Bengt Palmers (Palmers was also a producer) and Ulf Neidemar (Bernie Boys, Uffe) have also contributed to the group. The group's first single was produced by Hans Östlund. The group themselves were also relatively early in writing their own material. Ulf Wahlberg later became a member of the Secret Service together with Ola Håkansson and later started the production company and music publisher XTC Productions AB. Hans Jonsson continued as a musician together with Lalla Hansson. Thomas Rydberg became a member of Life and continued with Nature before his tragic accident during a stay in the USA. Björn Olsén trained as an artist and is represented in several public places. Peter Stolt applied to the healthcare system and developed his artistic aptitude down in Österlen. In 2012 he died due to illness. They reunited in 2017 and recorded an album with the line-up: Björn Olsén, Ulf Wahlberg, Hans Skjönsberg, Pelle Holm
