Skip Kelley

Skip Kelley is a music producer and bassist from Southern California. Genres include: Hip Hop, R&B, Neo Soul, Jazz and Blues. He has worked with hip hop artist such as Freestyle Fellowship, Neb Luv, Warren G, RBX, NO SOUL BARRED and Brandon “BRAYELL” Kelley to name a few. Shaquille O’Neal borrowed the concept for his 1996 album titled “You Can’t Stop the Reign” from an earlier production of Skip’s, who recorded the song also titled “You Can’t Stop the Reign” for hip hop group NO SOUL BARRED in 1992. “You Can’t Stop the Reign” eventually became an anthem and some of hip hop’s most iconic artists would rap over the track. The list includes Notorious B.I.G., Tupac, Jay-Z, Busta Rhymes, Rakim and Remy Ma. Skip has also worked with many notable jazz and blues artists. This list includes Arthur Adams, Guitar Shorty, George Bohanon, Deacon Jones, Keb’Mo', Wilton Felder, Doug Webb, Henry “The Skipper” Franklin, Calvin Keys, Dwight Trible and his father Verbon Kelley, Sr.
