The VIRUS 7 outbreak is a new breed of an intense style of "Street Metal" which was spawned beginning when American Edgar Paul Allen met famed guitarist Hank Shermann and drummer Bjarne T. Holm. The VIRUS 7 musicality with heavy guitar riffing results in their raw new approach which establishes this album hook-laden and raw to the bone! Paul explains the history of how this all started: "I was singing with the L.A band Original Sin," recounts Allen, "when I decided to move to Sweden. Just like that the music finally started to happen for me!". Grinding it out on the roads of Europe, Paul began to build a following by opening for the likes of Yngwie Malmsteen and Dio. After several hugely success full tours, his band Original Sin scored a much coveted opening slot on the Mercyful Fate/King Diamond tour throughout Europe! It was then that Paul, Hank and Bjarne hit it off and would prove to be their fateful encounter. VIRUS 7 was conceived during the early part of 1999 as Paul, Hank and Bjarne started writing songs and recording the initial tracking at Andy LaRouque´s Los Angered Studios. Just after Hank and Bjarne were completing their work on Mercyful Fate´s critically acclaimed "9" album, label interest grew for VIRUS 7. After completing the lineup with bassist Dave Moreno, the band continued writing and recording, with each song getting heavier and heavier than the last. The sweepstakes ended in early 2000 with Metal Blade securing the deal and VIRUS 7 decided to record their album "Sick in the head" with world famous producer Berno Paulson at Berno Studios in Sweden. The results take this albums style of heavy-hitting nonstop intensity, creating a unique in-your-face approach to metal. VIRUS 7 music is new territory not yet ventured by any of the musicians in their previous outings. Virus 7 broke up sometime in the early 2000s
