Nilton Paz in a Latin-American vocalist born in Caxlas, Mexico in 1919. He began his artistic career in 1935, on Rádio Cruzeiro do Sul, in Rio de Janeiro. He recorded his first album in 1939, at Columbia and had chart success in Brazil. In 1942, he joined the Victor label. At that time he decided to try his hand at film and travelled to the United States, where he performed in different night clubs in addition to performing on NBC in New York. His trip to the United States was widely covered by the press. In 1950, he recorded as a crooner as part of Chuy Reys And The Brazilians. Around this time he returned to Brazil. He returned to recording in 1954, for Todamérica and Columbia . In 1956, he signed a contract with the Pernambuco label Mocambo and released three albums. In 1958, he released sides through the Copacabana label. He worked on Rádio Cruzeiro do Sul, Rádio Clube and Mayrink Veiga. He left recordings on Columbia, Copacabana, Mocambo, Santa Anita and Carnaval labels. His greatest hits were: “Lollipop that beats beats”, “Direito de pecar”, “Tutuquinha”, and “Because your eyes shine”. He also appeared as an actor in some, mainly Brazilian, films.
