Об исполнителе:
Canadian band originally from Montréal, Quebec established in early 60s. The band’s name was an homage to Hugh Hefner's magazine, and its fictional leader (portrayed as a stick figure with a top hat) was a reference to executive bigwigs lampooned in the magazine's cartoons. Already well-known in Ontario and Quebec, their national popularity exploded in 1965 with opening slots for tours by [a70829] and [a20991] occurring at the same time RCA Victor released a handful of the band's singles. In 1966 they moved to Toronto and shortened their name to The Jaybees. Other name changes ensued, sometimes with minor lineup amendments: Peter And The Pipers in 1967 and [a2105721] in 1968. After the latter's release flopped due to changing tastes of the public the members went their separate ways.
