Ba-Boom

Ba-Boom, a band from ABC Paulista (São Paulo, Brazil) that, for more than 20 years, has continued with an independent and authorial work, which we can call “Brazilian Jamaican music”. A different reggae, which assumes its Brazilian accent in afoxé, maracatu, samba, capoeira and other expressions of popular culture. Jamaican rhythms like ragga and ska are also mixed, as well as elements of rap and jazz. The band has 10 musicians: percussion, brass, keyboard, guitar, bass, drums and vocals. The result is simple, popular music, easy to understand, full of senses and meanings. So are the letters: the language of the people, of the streets. The Greater ABC is historically marked by industrial growth and labor struggles, a fact that makes artistic production in the region often politicized. With the band Ba-Boom it's no different: music doesn't end in itself, it's a way to transform people, society.
