She charted five times in the U.S. and twice in the U.K. between 1962 and 1964; her "Love Letters" hit #5 overall in the U.S. and #4 in the U.K.--as well as #2 on the U.S. R&B chart. "But Not for Me", released later in 1962, hit #41 in the U.S. and #10 on the U.S. adult contemporary chart and #45 in the U.K. On TV, she is widely known for her role of Hester-Sue Terhune on the American television series "Little House on the Prairie".
