Ulyanovsk Academic Symphony Orchestra. Full name in Russian: Ульяновский государственный академический симфонический оркестр (УГАСО) Established in Ulyanovsk, Russia, in 1968. Eduard Serov was the first conductor. Many famous guest conductors and soloists have visited the orchestra. In 1985-2001 The main conductor and artistic director of the orchestra was Nikolai Alexeyev = Николай Алексеев, during this period the orchestra was awarded the honorary title “Academic” (1993), in 2005 - “Gubernatorial = Губернаторский” status.
