Butterflies (4)

The Butterflies were formed in 1965 in Roskilde, Denmark. The founding members were Kate Sievert on vocals and rhythm guitar, Gitte Christensen on lead guitar, Anne Thorboe on bass, and Karin Borre on drums. The drummer left and was replaced by Mette Jensen in 1966. In 1968, the band released 3917995. They are the only all-female group from Denmark to release a record, until such music became popular with the Danish Redstocking Movement (see for example Shit & Chanel). Butterflies toured in Sweden, Norway, and the Faeroe Islands, but split up in 1970.
