Alembic

US musical electronics, engineering, and equipment company. Made up of the husband and wife team of Ron Wickersham and Susan Wickersham (neé Frates), they were closely associated with [a246650]. Most famous for their guitar and bass designs (with Rick Turner), they recorded the albums , Ace and Garcia. In 1971 the team bought Pacific High Recording and renamed it Alembic Studios. They also made highly customized musical electronics, which were installed in Phil Lesh and [a362002]'s basses, and Jerry Garcia's guitars.
