Emmaline, whose singular stage name rhymes with “clementine,” is a Social media star crucial in spreading the word for her rising star. Born in 1998, she grew up in Anderson, Ind. She records music videos evocative of the 1950s with guitarist Ryan Mondak, and the duo boasts an online audience of 160,000 Instagram followers, more than 150,000 Facebook followers, and 36,000 YouTube subscribers. Emmaline supplied guest vocals on Bootsy Collins’ “Monster Mash” cover and collaborated with guitarist Mondak and pianist Scott Bradlee on a Postmodern Jukebox rendition of “Domino,” a 2011 hit by English singer Jessie J. Emmaline, the daughter of jazz pianist Russ Campbell, was a youngster who listened to a wealth of recordings by Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, and Anita O’Day. She explored the discography of Holiday, nicknamed ‘Lady Day’ in the 1930s, as a student at the University of Cincinnati’s College-Conservatory of Music. In addition to her pianist father, Emmaline’s family includes a vocalist mother, Julie, a bass-playing brother, Trey, and a keyboard-playing sister, Alyssa. A group known as the Campbell Jazz Continuum has showcased all family members at Central Indiana performances. In 2023, Emmaline made her silver screen debut in the motion picture “Sweetwater.” Portraying the role of Jeanne Staples, an up-and-coming jazz singer. She appeared alongside Richard Dreyfuss, Cary Elwes, and Jeremy Piven. She contributed to the soundtrack, singing authentic renditions of old classics such as “It Had to Be You,” “The Man I Love,” and “Down Home Blues,” a soulful duet with 4-time GRAMMY-winning blues artist Gary Clark Jr.
