August Strömberg

Swedish fiddler and shoemakerfrom Jät in Småland, born December 10, 1860, died July 3, 1947. He had learned to play the violin during a stay in Denmark in 1884. He was a musician and made a great effort during his life by writing down a large number of songs, mainly from the areas around Lake Åsnen. Strömberg played 16-piece polskor at a fast pace. Twelve songs by him are included in the folk music collection Swedish songs.
