Jack Starnes

American promoter and record label executive, married to Neva Starns. Jack Starns Jr. got his start in the music business as the manager for [a537975] and his band, which ended with both parties filing law suits with each other that were eventually settled out of court. After parting ways, Starns partnered with [a1496738], and formed a new record label in 1953, Starday Records. Shortly thereafter, Starns sold his shares in the company to Don Pierce (2). Note: The spelling of the Starns last name varried on differnt publications and between family members. "Starns" was the preferred spelling on Starday legal documents.
