Blau-Weiß 90

Football club from Berlin, founded in 1927 by merger of Vorwärts 1890 and Union 1892, dissolved in 1992. They played in the 2. Bundesliga between 1984 and 1986, in the Bundesliga for one season in 1986/87, and 2. Bundesliga again from 1987 to 1992, when the club folded due to bankruptcy. A new club was founded at the same time, starting at the bottom of the league pyramid. In 1986 Blau-Weiß 90 were promoted to the Bundesliga and made a record with schlager singer Bernhard Brink which they presented on the TV show "das aktuelle sportstudio". At the time they were the leading football club in West Berlin.
