Azul was formed in 1998 by composer/bass player Simon McKechnie. Since then the group has played its blend of Afro-Cuban, Brazilian, funk and Jazz originals to audiences at many arts centres and jazz clubs in the country. Azul's shows now feature Canadian contemporary dancer Genevieve Grady.
