Petra Hellquist

Swedish cellist and music pedagogue based in Göteborg, born on April 19, 1958 in Örgryte, Göteborg, Västergötland. In 2018, Hellquist was appointed Chair of Council at 'Svenska Stråklärarförbundet' (Swedish String Teachers Association), a council she had been a member of since 2008. Since 1991, she runs and, since 1994 also, owns her own music school, Linnéstråket, in Göteborg. Linnéstråket sometimes gives concerts, often together with guest teachers, for example Jesper Svedberg, Patrik Harrysson and Ludvika Spelmanstrio. Hellquist was educated at Musikhögskolan i Göteborg where she studied for Maja Vogl. Petra is also a practising teacher of the international Suzuki method of music education, after studies for Sven Sjögren and Anders Grøn (2). Also in this database, Lillemor Tell is the mother of Petra Hellquist and one of Hellquist's sons is David Hellquist.
