Jim Scancarelli

Cartoonist and fiddler from New York City, Scancarelli's family moved to North Carolina shortly after he was born in 1941, though they did move to Washington, D.C. Scancarelli later became closely involved with the North Carolina traditional music scene, especially the Union Grove Fiddler's Convention, playing fiddle and banjo in several bands. He went on to start the small Old Oblivion label which served as a label to release recordings by himself and his friends. Scancarelli also draws cartoons for the Gasoline Alley comic series.
