François Verry (b. 1951, Strasbourg) is a French pianist, organist, Harmonium player, and distinguished pedagogue, father of violinist Felix Verry. He lives in Belfort, teaching at Conservatoire Henri Dutilleux and serving as a titular organist at St. Jean Protestant Church. Verry is an avid collector of old instruments, including various "Harmoniums," an antique type of free-reed organs, and Pleyel et Cie fortepianos. François studied at Conservatoire de Strasbourg, trained by Helene Boschi on piano, and further continued his education with Ivan Moravec in Prague and Jörg Demus in Austria. In 1981, Verry won the Fribourg International Piano Competition, followed by the first prize at the Musica Antiqua Bruges Festival in 1983. As a concert performer, François Verry has performed on harmonium and organ with several vocal ensembles and choirs and accompanied his son, Felix Verry, on piano. He also played with a baritone singer Jean-Louis Georgel and the duo of cellists Thérèse Bussière-Meyer and Philippe Bussière.
