Lily Ann Carol

American singer. Louis Prima's first female vocalist. Born: February 17, 1922 New York City, New York Died: 1999 Long Island, New York (age 76-77). Married to singer Joe Barone (2) (1966-1999, her death). The name on her burial says "Lilyann Carol Barone". She sang with Louis Prima’s orchestra from 1940 to 1946, when she left to begin a solo career. After going solo, she played the night club circuit. She recorded with Charlie Ventura’s band in late 1946 and under her own name in 1950 and 1951. In 1952, she signed with RCA and in 1954 recorded for the Bruce label. In 1957, she recorded for Mercury. During the 1960s, she worked a nightclub act with husband Joe Barone (2). They continued to perform for the next 25 years at such venues as the Concord Hotel in New York City, New York. They recorded two LP albums together: "Souvenir" and "Live From Jupiter's". A CD compilation of her recordings with Prima was released in 2021 by Jasmine Records.
