Australian singer, guitarist, songwriter, and artist from the outer northern suburbs of Melbourne. Born in 1959 in Ivanhoe, Victoria, Sharin grew up in the Montmorency area and attended Briar Hill Primary School and Eltham High School. Between 1967 and 1973, Sharin studied guitar with Wally Johnson (co-writer of the song Give Me A Home Among The Gumtrees). She started songwriting and performing while in High School in school concerts as well as performing solo at Melbourne venues such as The Outpost Inn. In 1975, she worked as a backing vocalist with The Salters Rush Blues Band. In 1977, she began singing lead vocals while in the band Overproof & The Distiller Sisters. In 1978, she joined some former members of the Eltham based band Reuben Tice to form The Sharin Anderson Band. During 1982-1986, Sharin performed with the Sharin Anderson Band, did solo gigs and worked with Melbourne bands including The Perfect Hosts (backing vocals), The Robbie Greig Band (backing vocals), The Connection (lead & backing vocals), Bluey (main vocals), The Motown Jackets (main vocals). In 1986, Sharin formed Hey Gringo and performed originals and covers. During 1990-1993, Sharin worked as a session vocalist for advertising jingles with Silkwood Studios and also occasionally with Burkhard Dallwitz. From 1993-1996, Sharin performed at Melbourne venues and festivals with Sharin Anderson and The Blue Angels. In 1998, Sharin formed Lola's Delight with Nadine Budge and Marni Sheehan. In 2001, Bluehouse recorded Sharin’s song Another World on their 6 Minutes Of Breathable Air CD release. In 2002, Sharin occasionally contributed backing vocals and guitar with The Urban Nomads, live and on some recordings. In 2007, Bluehouse recorded Sharin’s song Beside You on their One More Kiss CD. In 2008 and 2011, Sharin was a guest backing vocalist on releases by The Stetson Family.
