Herbert Günther (26 March 1906, Berlin — 19 March 1978, Munich) was a German writer, poet, and editor. He is best known as Joachim Ringelnatz's biographer and for his work with German philosopher and aesthetics theorist Max Dessoir (1867—1947). Günther was the second husband of pianist Elena Glasunow (1905—1999), the adopted daughter of renowned Russian composer Alexander Glazunov, and authored liner notes for a few of Glazunov's records. In 1929, Günther published a controversial Hier Schreibt Berlin ("Here writes Berlin") anthology featuring over 50 modernist and revolutionary writers, including Heinrich Mann, Alfred Döblin, Lion Feuchtwanger, Heinrich Eduard Jacob, Erich Kästner, Alfred Kerr, Kurt Tucholsky, Carl Zuckmayer, and Arnold Zweig; it was banned and subjected to public burning in 1933.
