Mimi Waitzman

Mimi Waitzman is a British-American musicologist, researcher, member of the British Clavichord Society, and book editor for The Galpin Society Journal; she has worked as a principal curator of musical collections at Horniman Museum And Gardens since September 2009. Waitzman was born in the USA and studied music history and harpsichord at McGill University in Montreal, followed by postgraduate studies at The University Of Michigan, where Mimi became a research assistant at the renowned Stearns Collection of Musical Instruments. In 1981, Mimi Waitzman relocated to Great Britain, where she established an independent partnership to make and repair historical stringed keyboard instruments. Between 1984 and 2013, she worked as a part-time musical instrument collection manager and curator at the National Trust's Fenton House in Hampstead, London.
