Joel Pearson

Originally from the Blue Mountains in New South Wales, Joel Pearson is a radio presenter, composer, DJ, and producer based in regional Victoria. Joel hosts the weekly electronic music show Virtual State on Castlemaine's 94.9 mainFM, and runs the label Milk Thistle Records (est. 2016). Under his primary artist alias Scatterbrain (6), Joel has released two EPs and a remix EP, and contributed to a number of electronic music compilations. His music has been licensed in the 2019 Australian web series Blind, and he has composed for a number of indie video games, including the puzzle-platformer Mallow Drops, alongside Meghann O'Neill (Wildfire, PC Powerplay). He was a radio presenter at Sydney's FBi Radio 94.5 FM from 2014-2017. Here he presented the weekly future beats show Future Face with co-hosts Roleo and Tobio, and later with Seduna. He also presented the UK music show The Selector throughout 2015, and guest-presented numerous other shows. On Bondi Beach Radio he co-hosted Bass Mountains from February 2014 to December 2015 with fellow Blue Mountains/Sydney DJs Ncrypt and Ecl1pse. Joel presented Surrounded By Silence on 89.1 Radio Blue Mountains from December 2009 to March 2014. He was a coordinator at CDR Sydney with Sofie Loizou AKA Anomie from 2014-2016.
