Russell Rolen

Russell Rolen is an American cellist and music educator, a founding member of the Spektral Quartet, and the principal cello of the Firebird Chamber Orchestra in Miami. Russell earned his bachelor's degree from the Peabody Institute in Baltimore and finished Master's program at the University Of Wisconsin-Madison, becoming a Paul Collins Distinguished Graduate Fellowship. He received a DMus degree from Northwestern University, where he currently coaches chamber music. Rolen also maintains a private cello studio and moderncellotechniques.com, a multimedia database for composers and musicians to explore extended performing techniques in contemporary music.
