Zippy Jim Differ

Canadian drummer, born August 11, 1956 in Toronto and died on November 7, 2018 in Thunder Bay at age 62. Differ began playing drums professionally in Toronto at age 17. He played with the bands Lynx, PHD and others and toured North America. Differ moved to Thunder Bay, Ontario in the late 1990s, where he worked with flamenco, folk, rock, blues, jazz and classical musicians. Bands he worked with included Flamenco Caravan, The Chain, Rodney Brown, The Knackers, The Matt Sellick Trio, 21 Gun Fun, Ti Amo, Mood Indigo, Sharp Nine and the Danny Johnson Trio. He also collaborated with his brother John “Jake” Differ on children’s albums.
