As a composer, Simon has contributed songs to the soundtracks of independent films, and has composed scores for award-winning animations and short films. He was the guitarist and frontman for the critically acclaimed Liverpool art-pop band Santa Carla, and in 2010 created the UK songwriting team Sodajerker. Since 2011, he has produced and co-presented over 200 episodes of the Sodajerker On Songwriting podcast, which has received upwards of 5 million downloads, charted in 80 countries, and been awarded coverage in Esquire, Slate, NME and The Guardian.
