Philip John Lee

Philip John Lee (May 6, 1944 - March 6, 2010) was an English flamenco guitarist, born in Norwich. At school he taught himself the mandolin and at the age of 14 he started taking classical guitar lessons. The following year he first heard flamenco and decided to become a flamenco guitarist, devoting himself to his studies for the next four years. At the age of 15 he built a classical guitar. In 1969 he released an album, "Flamenco Guitar". After his death, Classical Guitar magazine published a six-page compilation paying tribute to his career, including a full-length memoir by Paco Peña.
