French singer ("Basse noble") (born July 7, 1872 in Paris, France – died May 24, 1944 in Paris, France) Trained at the Paris Conservatory by famed baritone Léon Melchissédec, Aumonier cut his first cylinders for Pathé in 1897, at age 25. Aumonier's repertoire included both the basso profondo roles in "La Juive", "Les Huguenots", "Sigurd", "La Favorite", and 'Aïda" and the singing bass (basso cantante) roles in "Mignon", "La Bohème", "Philémon et Baucis", "Tannhäuser", and "Lohengrin".
