Richard Santos

Tongan musician. December 24, 1937 to August 23, 2014. Richard Santos aka Ricky Santos worked with Bill Sevesi and together with Malu Natapu and Trevor Edmondson was member of Bill Sevesi & His Islanders. Two songs by Santos, "Oi Auve Ae Maile" and "Si'i Lose" appear on the [m1465257] album. In addition to performing in New Zealand, he also performed in Australia, the South Pacific. He also did USO shows in Vietnam. In 1973, he went to the United States. He toured Alaska and the West Coast. He met his wife in 1977 while he was working in ORE. Moving to Reno they were married in 1980. For over 25 years he was a local musician, entertaining at various casinos and lounges in Northern Nevada. In addition to those, he played at the J.A. Nugget, Harold's Club, Eldorado, MGM venues. He died at 76 years of age from Alzheimer's. He was survived by his wife and three children.
