The real name of the band is "Tu Hermana" (Your Sister). By copyright issues it ended up correcting each copy by hand so that it appeared as "Tu Hormona" (Your Hormone). A note from 1998: https://www.pagina12.com.ar/1999/suple/no/99-02/99-02-11/199.htm Now it's called Tu Hormona another travaladna “Essentially it's rock, but in the middle there are broken songs, quiet, chacareras, joda... There is no coherence of style. We try to do what we like”, says Gustavo Jove, drummer of Las Pelotas. But his definition does not respond to Sokol and Daffunchio's band but to Tu Hormona, the quartet that has just released a well-treated first rock and blues album. It's called Where are the keys? and the distribution for now is underground. “It's what happens to us all the time”, they say to explain the origin of the prosaic question that gives the CD its name. Whoever roams the underground probably knows the group as Tu Hermana, their first name before a patent issue forced them to rename themselves. A couple of changed vowels, and the insolent Tu Hermana became the curious Tu Hormona. The line-up is completed by Mariano Mahía on guitar, Juan Pablo Pagano on bass and singer Claudia Canga, alias Köla, much closer to Patti Smith than Natalie Imbruglia, to get an idea. “It started as a project of Köla and mine”, Gustavo recalls. “We wanted to make music without any preconceptions. We're pretty brainless in that sense." They recorded the album in the Los Angeles studios (owned by Las Pelotas), in the middle of the calm mountains of Nono, Córdoba. But the fact of being related to a consecrated band does not make things any easier for them. At least that is deduced from the lyrics of the second song on the album, “What are you working on?”: “A thousand years rehearsing / to be able to play / in some dark pub / that they won't even pay me”, sounds in the chorus. The hard life of the Argentine rocker? "It's that if after spending all week carrying newsletters everywhere, carrying equipment, rehearsing, pasting up posters at night with paste, an asshole comes along and says 'ah, yes, but that's not work...'", Jove reprimands with his head and concludes, tense: "Go wash your ass!". https://elsiestero.com.ar/efemerides/gustavo-jove/ "...Parallel to his work in the group then led by Alejandro Sokol, Jove founded Tu Hormona together with his wife and singer Claudia "Köla" Canga (who would later also participate as a backup singer in the classic "Será" and "Abejas" by Las Pelotas ) and ventures again into the world of the underground until the dissolution of the band..."
