Chris Black (14)

Chris Black is a writer, consultant, and podcast host originally from the Atlanta suburbs, now based in Los Angeles and New York. He sang in a hardcore band in the early aughts called One Step Closer and went on to manage the band Cartel (3). In 2015, he published his book I Know You Think You Know It All: Advice and Observations For You to Stand Apart in Public and Online. He has bylines in GQ, Vanity Fair, New Yorker, Vogue, Garage, and other publications. Black currently runs the agency Done To Death Projects and is half of the brand consultancy and media company Public Announcement. He also co-hosts the podcast How Long Gone with his friend Jason Stewart (3) (Stewart also DJs under the name Them Jeans). In 2021, How Long Gone signed a deal with Jagjaguwar to release an album on which the duo compile and discuss some of their favorite music from the label's catalog.
