Swedish book publisher and music producer, born April 9, 1936 in Salo, Finland, died January 22, 1993 in Edsberg. He came to Sweden as a war child in 1941 from Finland and was adopted by the harbor captain Per Kärnekull from Nynäshamn. Kärnekull studied at Uppsala University and during his studies was active within the Södermanland-Nerike nation where he was the nation's librarian and club master in 1962. In 1978 he was installed as an honorary member of the nation. Timo Kärnekull started the book publisher Askild & Kärnekull in 1969 together with Jan Askild, Barbro Stenström and Torsten Ehrenmark. Over the course of about 10 years, the book publisher published more than 500 titles, of which a bestseller was Kvinnorummet by Marilyn French. In 1982, he started Timo Förlag AB, and among other things published the titles In search of the master (Peters & Waterman) and Megatrender. The titles were later taken over by Svenska Dagbladet.
