Hans Faltl

Austrian violinist and conductor (born July 10, 1900 in Vienna – died September 10, 1972 in Vienna) Joined the pit orchestra of the Wiener Burgtheater in 1936. In 1939 he became a member of the Hofopernorchester. Between 1940 and 1965, he played the 2nd violin with the Wiener Philharmoniker, interrupted by military service in 1944-1945. Faltl was a member of Bert Silving's Klavierquartett Silving and led Die Faltl-Kemmeter-Schrammeln, Die Faltl-Schrammeln, and Das Hans-Faltl-Quintett. Faltl was known as Rathaus-Kapellmeister because he and his ensembles played for years at events at the Vienna town hall.
