Son and grandson of a traditional family from the Congo Barrense, he was raised in the midst of Congo bands. Flavinho was part of the first child Congo band founded in Barra do Jucu. He was present when Martinho Da Vila took the [a3978082] to perform at the Municipal Theater of Rio de Janeiro amid the explosion of "Madalena do Jucu". Today he is one of the Guardians of the Mastro de São Benedito of the Banda de Congo Tambor Jacarenema alongside Renato Casanova and Dhiego and is also one of the founders of Casaca.
