Gregory Tucker

Born 1908. Died July 7th, 1971. Appointed to the faculty of Bennington College in 1933. in 1947 helped the planning and growth of MIT's Music Section of the Humanities. Also was on the faculties of Wellesley College, The Longley School of Music, and Harvard University. Toured the United States, Puerto Rico, South America, and Europe giving concerts of classical, romantic, and contemporary works by American composers. Also appeared with the Zimbler Sinfonietta, the Boston Pops Orchestra, The Juilliard Quartet, the New Music Quartet, and many other artists and organizations. Made original compositions as commissions for the likes of William Bales, Sophie Maslow, and Merce Cunningham.
