Barbershop bass vocalist. Born on March 31, 1933 in Hammond, IN. He started his barbershopping in the mid-1950’s while he was in the Navy. His first barbershop chapter was in San Diego, CA while he was stationed there. He later moved to Florida in the late 50’s and joined the a group that would become a legend. That group was the Suntones. He won the 1961 SPEBSQSA International championship with the Suntones and went on to perform on the Jackie Gleason Show for 4 1/2 years and be featured on all ten of the Suntones record albums. Bill is remembered as one of the most accurate barbershop basses. He retired from the Suntones in 1999 when he fell ill and sang his last engagement with them on New Years of 1999/2000. Aside from barbershop singing, Bill was an airplane pilot and occasionally played the drums. Bill passed away on July 31, 2004 in San Diego, CA at the age of 71 after a long battle with cancer. His final appearance on stage with the Suntones before his death was in Fairfax, VA on October 18, 2003.
