Rick Avery emigrated to Canada from Britain in 1970 and became involved with folk music in Toronto . A civil engineer, after a short stint building and designing sewers, he became a full-time professional musician. Teamed up with Judy Greenhill in 1978 and maintained their performing partnership for many years.
