The 5 Rising Sons

Canadian band from Burlington, Ontario. Originally formed in 1964 under the name The Rising Sons with lineup of Ron Canning (lead and rhythm guitar, vocals), Mike Kotur (lead and rhythm guitar, vocals), Pete Davidson (organ, vocals), Dave Best (bass), and Robin McMillan (drums). After a successful show at McMillan's father's Ford dealership in the summer of 1965 they were signed by Columbia Records Of Canada, Ltd. In 1966 they changed names to The 5 Rising Sons to avoid confusion with a U.S. band of the same name. That same year Pete Davidson left to attend university in the U.K. and in September was replaced by Bruce Ley on organ. In 1968 the band changed labels from Columbia to Yorkville, who had them change their name to The Willapuss Wallapuss.
