Barbershop bass vocalist and choral director Born on June 9, 1928 in New Jersey. Bill’s barbershop career took off when he was singing bass with the Hometown Quartet. He and the Hometown Quartet won the 1956 amid-Atlantic District Championship. In 1958, Bill earned a third place bronze medal with the Hometown Quartet in the 1958 SPEBSQSA International contest. Following the 1958 contest, the Hometown Quartet broke up and Bill joined the Easternaires replacing Harry Richter as their bass. He earned a 4th place bronze medal with the Easternaires in the 1959 SPEBSQSA International contest in Chicago, Illinois. In 1961, Bill and the rest of the Easternaires went on Broadway in the Music Man replacing the Buffalo Bills and were part of the road tour until 1963. Bill actively sang with the Easternaires until 1967 when he fell ill with leukemia. Aside from quartet singing, Bill directed the Jersey City Men’s Chorus for three years and directed a few Sweet Adeline Choruses. Bill passed away on August 26, 1970 at the age of 42 after a long battle with leukemia.
