Savates Jaunes

Tahitian group featuring organist Axel and Tepa on lead vocals with Charles Vernaudon on guitar. Other members were Australian drummer [a1894777] and Fijian bass guitarist Gucake Lasaisuva aka Gilman Lasaisuva. They were regular at the Hotel Taaone in Papeete in the late 1960s, playing six nights a week.Under Axel's diretion, they recorded an album 6718692 for Yves Roche's Manuiti record label. The album was a mix of Tahitian songs and r&b, rock songs. In the early 1960s, [a3276274] sang with a group of the same name. Jerry Vernaudon and Emile Vernaudon played with the ensembe in the 1970s.
