Walter Kanitz

Austrian-born Toronto-based radio host and author. Walter Kanitz was the host for light-classical-music radio shows in turn on the CBC, CHUM, CFRB, and CHFI in Toronto. He was the author of the “The White Kepi: A Casual History of the French Foreign Legion”, “The Reluctant Legionnaire: An Escapade”, and “Tales of the Foreign Legion”. Born in Vienna September 10, 1910 Emigrated to Canada in 1944 Died in Toronto February 07, 1986
