Austrian composer, singer and choir leader. Born: 20.7.1762 in Graz, Austria Died: 24/25.3.1826 in Đakovo, Croatia Haibl collaborated, starting from 1789, with Emanuel Schikaneder at the 'Freihaus-Theater' in Wieden, Austria. First he performed as an actor and tenor vocalist, later he also wrote musical comedies for the theatre. Ludwig van Beethoven used for his 'Menuett A La Vigano' Jakob Haibl's 'Ballet 'Le Nozze Disturbate', which he wrote during this period. He also wrote in this period his biggest success 'Der Tyroler Wastel' with the popular song 'Die Tiroler sind oftn so lustig und froh'.
