Mindwire formed in Guildford, England in 1994 under the name Bleed the Stone with the original line up consisting of Elijah Crawley (Vocals), Ali Morrow (Guitar), Matt Nice (Guitar), Ian Meek (Drums) and bassist Sam Goodchild, who was soon replaced by Jim Lee. Later that year Simon Morton replaced Elijah on vocals. In the spring of 1995 the band changed its name to Mindwire and recorded their first demo, the Gin Palace EP at Trinity Studios in Woking. Due to mounting tensions Ali was asked to leave the band. Simon took on the role of singer and second guitarist. In 1996 the Drown Me Out demo was released clearly whcih included re-recorded versions of 'Touch the Other Side' and 'Skullcap' from the Gin Palace EP. In 1997 Matt was replaced by Mike Goodman (a teacher at Woking College and later, Guildford Academy of Contemporary Music). Several songs were recorded together before Mike left the group in May 1998. During this time they were managed and produced by Redwood/Lazydog guitarist, Rob Blackham. In 2001 Ian Meek left the group and was replaced by Chris Hughes of Redwood. The band split up in July 2004.
