Born Lee Tillman Haynes, but musically known as Lee Tillman, legendary New Orleans Music Recording Producer Cosimo Matassa said that Lee had the best voice he had ever recorded. After the Denham Springs, La. native recorded a pair of 45’s in 1961 and 1962 on two different labels, S.J. Montalbano, a.k.a. Sam Montel produced Tillman’s version of Art Neville’s classic “All These Things” in 1964, which became a local smash hit. Tillman went on to record four other 45’s on both the Montel-Michelle and Michelle labels, with included covers such as “Fortune Teller,” “Kiss Tomorrow Goodbye” and a song he co-wrote with Joseph Ruffino, “If I Ever.” All four of these hits are a part of the 60-song Double-CD, “You’re Never Too Old To Rock ’N Roll,” Lee died in 2008
