Lifelong music artist Michael Culhane holds both Ringling Bros. & Barnum and Bailey Circus Clown College diploma & Ithaca College film school degree. The Rondo Award-winning Famous Monsters of Filmland Magazine interviewer (Creepybopper #1 MC) & podcaster had his songwriter/performer career launched living on a train, touring with The Greatest Show On Earth working at venues like Madison Square Garden and L.A. Forum as a teenage circus clown artiste. Along the way, he wrote some of his first songs, starting a chain reaction of original songs and home recordings among closest childhood family and friends eventually leading to their founding bands together — while up in Central New York at Ithaca College and then in Boston during the years after — in the person of rock groups such as the longest-running, the two 1980's bands that he named, n.Y. breAks and subsequently Circle Sky. Band-wise, Circle Sky (after MC & ROCKfORD; and then n.Y. breAks) rocked Boston nightclubs & college radio both, then culminated conquering the crowd after taking the stage and the once-in-a-lifetime chance to open the show as support act for Tin Machine in crucial NYC concert debut, chosen personally by legendary music maverick David Bowie himself. After both had played, Bowie shook Michael’s hand and said “you have a great band.” That band was followed on both East & West coasts by a briefly seen MC solo / duo / trio / quartet phase called knowell rassam (aka noel rassam) bookending a stint back in Boston with The Relatives, all preceding the recording and showcasing activity of the mid-1990's resulting in a somewhat sustained Circle Sky reunion; and ultimately by Circus Guy, his all-original NYC rock band, who played to sold-out audiences at home and toured doing musical outreach for U.S. State Dept. in the Middle East and is currently releasing new songs by MC . . . and who are (rightly) rumored to rise again returned as a performing concert outfit soon, in Los Angeles. More than two dozen digital singles — such as "Yasmine" "Treat Me" "Twilight's Last Gloaming" and the musical memoir "I Wrote It Down" — are now streaming that Circus Guy band leader Michael Culhane produced, arranged, and sings, either as solo titles like "start to care" "Frances (Odyssey)" or as recorded and listed here with his group. Circus Guy released their acclaimed album The Lovely Luna in 1999 whose renewed favorable reviews prompt both a CD re-release and first-ever vinyl configurations of their debut that are also hoped to be announced for sometime in 2019.
