Don't confuse with his son, pianist, Alfredo Valdés Jr.: both can appear as Alfredito Valdes. Brother of singer and bandleader Vicentico Valdés and percussionists [a305160] and Oscar Valdés (Padre), father of pianist Alfredo Valdés Jr., and husband of singer and guitarist Ana María Purmuy who was a member of the all-women orchestra Anacaona.
