Robby Boone

Robby Boone started playing banjo at the age of 10. Two short years later, he landed his first musical gig with Gene Newby and The Round Mountain Boys. Since that time, Boone’s musical journey has included several groups, including Cedar Hill Grass, Billy Mounce and The Outlaws, Parker Mountain Bluegrass, The Drifters and Lonesome Road, who won the S.P.B.G.M.A. International Band contest in Nashville, Tennessee in 1999. Boone has been featured in Banjo Newsletter and has also served as a fill-in musician with such acts as Chubby Wise, Mac Wiseman, Gary Ferguson, Rhonda Vincent, and The New South. He has performed on the stages of such notable venues as The Station Inn, The Renfro Valley Barn Dance and The Grand Ole Opry.
